Anthony Marchetta has more than 35 years of experience in both the public and private sectors. Under his leadership, the Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency has seen a threefold increase in financed housing units since 2010. It has been recognized by HUD for its smart-growth and opportunity incentives in its Low Income Housing Tax Credits Qualified Allocation Plan, which has resulted in better locations for new tax-credit projects. Previously, Mr. Marchetta spent 25 years in real estate development and in the public sector, where he last served as the executive director of Middlesex County’s Department of Housing and Community Development. In 1998 Governor Whitman appointed him to the State Planning Commission, which in 2001 adopted the State Development and Redevelopment Plan.
